I recently discovered svpply.com.
It work like a social network based on products. Superficial, yes. Consumerism, yes totally. But it’s very well made, a good inspiration and just fun. It also uses a pretty clever system where user stock up the product library. I’m not sure about the use (except displaying your taste and giving your friends an idea for your next birthday present - which might be use enough) - it looks just so fine.
